Project Information
Project Name
Fenceline Odour Monitoring Network and Advanced Spatial Dispersion Modelling at Coloane Wastewater Treatment Plant
Clients
Genyield Construction Co., Ltd.
Instrument
MAS-Odour Plus
Application
VOCs & Odour Monitoring and Sampling
Location
Coloane, Macau
Parameters:
  • H₂S, NH₃, CH₄S, TVOC, Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Temperature, Humidity, Barometric Pressure

  • To maintain strict compliance with Macau SAR Administrative Regulation No. 37/2018 and enforce localized corporate environmental stewardship, Genyield Construction Co., Ltd. mandated an advanced air quality safety grid at the Coloane Wastewater Treatment Plant. The primary objective was twofold: establish an uninterrupted fenceline sensor network to flag any industrial emission leakage, and implement an advanced mathematical model to visualize how fugitive odours disperse into adjacent commercial and residential zones.
    Sapiens Solution & Impact
Sapiens engineered an end-to-end intelligence framework, deploying 6 high-performance MAS Odour Plus platforms across the facility's boundaries and targeting an indoor high-risk processing zone.
    • Comprehensive Compound Matrix Tracking: The multi-sensor nodes deliver continuous ppb-level logging of a robust parameter profile, encompassing H₂S, NH₃, CH₄S, and Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC).

    • Advanced SEIN Cloud Contour Customization: Sapiens’ software engineering team developed exclusive high-tier computational upgrades for the client on our proprietary SEIN Cloud Platform. By feeding live multi-station gas concentration metrics and precise physical wind profiles into spatial interpolation algorithms, the platform generates real-time, dynamic isopleth contour maps (concentration heatmaps) superimposed directly over the plant's geography.

    • Historical Plume Reconstruction & Decision Support: The SEIN platform possesses advanced retroactive simulation capabilities. By back-processing historical sensor records and meteorological logs, operators can fully reconstruct past odour dispersion incidents frame-by-frame. This creates a powerful diagnostic tool that provides Genyield Construction and environmental stakeholders with the predictive data foundation required for operational adjustments, incident investigation, and optimized compliance decision-making.
